Holmes was following the instructions of the mate, who was acting as the voice of the captain.He was to follow instructions of the captain at all times and that is what he did.I don't think that Holmes or any other mate listening to the voice of the mate who spoke for the captain should have been charged with manslaughter.I think the Captain and the mate who spoke for the captain should have been charged because they are the ones that gave the orders.There were other crewmen helping Holmes that followed the instructions of the voice of the captain.He helped save lives in the end yet was still charged and convicted of manslaughter.I do not understand why the captain did not help save lives or go down with the ship.It was his duty to make sure the passengers made it to safety and all he cared about was himself.The longboat with Holmes on it was extermely overcroweded but the boat that the captain was in had only a safe amount of persons aboard.I do not think that Holmes should have been charged or the only charged in the deaths of the passnegers

For my research paper, I also want to look at other cases that are not very popular such as U.S. v. O'Brien, Tinker v. Des Moines School District, and other resources.I believe that if I have a variety of evidence for my point of view about Flag Burning,then my argument will stand its ground and have more merit.I did alot of research on the issue but had to break down my resources to a certain few so my paper would not be too long or complicated

My research methods for Paper 3 are to do as much as possible and put as much effort and info into my paper as possible. I will read all the example cases given in the book and read other cases that the cases metion.I want my paper to precise and on point.I really need to know my information about flag burning and freedom of speech. I will be going to tutorial 2 times and get help with my paper and MLA format. I want to especially make sure that my format is up to date.

The MLA resources that we recieved in class were very helpful.I learned a lot better on how to use the resources in my papers.I thought that on my second paper I used the MLA format correctly but as I was advised, I did not.My major is journalism and I really am trying to get everything down to be a great journalist.From now on, I will go to tutorial so I can also have extra help with my paper and my MLA citations.I'm glad that Mr. Cain passed out the information.I will keep it in my binder at all times

This article is by Zachary Stahl. The article talks about Measure V that citizens will have the opportunity to vote on for the 2005NOV08 election. Measure V would raise about $11 million a year to keep Salinas' three library branches open and restore them to full schedule. Last year, Measures A, B, and C were given to voters to vote on.These measures would have imposed a tax that would have kepy Salinas Libraries open.The only reason why Salinas libraries are opened now is because RallySalinas campaign raised $640,000 to keep the libraries opened part-time.Unfortunately, the libraries lost most of their employees and are now opened part time.Measure V will also keep the streets of Salinas clean and tidy and will open up more recreation for children and teens and keep them off the streets

I believe that immigrants who are not citizens AND not applying for citizenship should be allowed to vote in state and local elections.If an immigrant has come to America but has not taken the time out to become a citizne, I don't think that they have the right to come in and vote for state or local elections if they cannot become citizens.Obviously they don't have the energy to become a citizen so they should not be allowed to vote.Illegal immigrants definately should not be able to vote because they are not supposed to be within the states anyhow.Now, true, sometimes immigrants are not given the opportunity to become citizens but they just have to fight their way through like every other minority race has in Amercia.

I will compare Hartnell Community College with Long Beach State College.I attended Long Beach State 2004 August but returned because the housing costs were extremely high.Long Beach State is one of the highest costing CSU's in California.Hartnell College is not expensive at all, maily because it is a community college.Long beach States has a much larger population than Hartnell does.The website for Hartnell stays the same every semester.It does offer vital information about registration,financial aid assistance, academics, and guidance. Long Beach States website is colorful and includes an array of tips and ideas such as living arrangements, job placements, tutorials,activities you can do within and around the city, and the academic and financial assistance that Hartnell's website offers. Both of the colleges are extermely great to attend, whether you are going to Hartnell because its cheaper and you can get you general education out the way or whether you're ready to start new in a great big school to get your degree

Wilson talks about how the National Rifle association and its allies say that "guns don't kill, people kill and how they urge the government to punish more severely people who use guns to commit crimes.Wilson believes that the tougher the prospective sentence,the less likely it will be imposed or imposed swiftly.He also believes that if Wilson states that handgun owners are more likely to shoot themsleves or their loved ones than a criminal.I do agree with Wilson that persons who carry guns unlawfully should be disarmed.I dont agree with Wilson when he says that those who urge us to forbid or severely restrict the sale of gunsignore facts like 2 percent of gun fatalities was the victim mistaken for an intruder and that most gun accidents involve rifles and shotguns, not handguns.The rate of fatal gun accidents have been declining while the level of gun owernship has risen.I do believe that those against guns take these facts into consideration but still believe that guns should be eliminated

Conduct that is harmful causes is physically inflicted onto a person.Conduct is the way that a person carries themselves and acts. Misconduct can lead a person into trouble with the law. Conduct that is offensive is an act(s) that is offensive to others emotionally and mentally. Harmful conduct and offensive conduct are two different things.

Honestly, I do not believe that we have the right to anonymity as Dershowitz mentions.Everything today needs identification or proof of who we are has a person or our background history.Some things even require how much we make, if we're married,etc. The right to anonymity is not mentioned anywhere in the Constitution but should it be? If we had the right to anonymity, then there would be no need for background checks or credit reports.
